photo book / Mac POWER
Jan. 16th, 2007 02:09 pmI played around with a few photobook options per your suggestions and am in love with Blurb. Its everything that Shutterfly/Kodak isn't. MyPublisher wasn't bad, but I liked the way that Blurb's software worked a bit better. The results are beautiful. I'm culling through old LJ posts to get things like my vaca writeups to have as text alongside. I could literally spend all night doing that kind of thing, except the stupid Mac keeps dying,
I don't want to mess around with it too much, as this coming weekend, computing will reach a whole new speed when Leroy* enters the house:
*cue trumpets*
Its not nearly as pretty as the Imac is, but the Imac will be slow for the amount of video that Judd wants to crunch out (esp in terms of burning DVDs). (plus, we're a little gun shy of the all-in-one computer) He ordered a ton of extra memory so Leroy will be FAST. We spent ages trying to find a decent looking moniter (couldn't swallow the $700 Apple one, even if it does look nice, esp as there's no I-sight camera in it). Meanwhile I'm going to either try to haggle something out of Apple for the piece-o-crap overheating imac that we had repaired this summer but STILL isn't right. Otherwise, I'll just try to sell it on ebay as damaged and fund a refurbished iBook for couch web browsing.
*some people name their cars, we name our computers. My Macs of past were Geoffery and Molly. The current one is Bianca. Leroy is all power.
