Doing my Dreamwidth placeholder here.....and I'm not under any illusion that when I delete my LJ the Russians wont have already cloned it and saved it. Once on the Web, always on the web.

who else is here?
in honor(?) of the Icelandic volcano, Lonely Planet has made all of their Euro city apps free (usually $7.99)  I dont have any big travel scheduled in the near future, but will def download these as I adore LP's guides, and London, Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna, etc are always on the "must get back to" list

Along with delicious leftover, I'm eating up the big story about the Real Housewives of DC wannabes who crashed the State Dinner earlier this week. Its like Speidi have aged 20 years and moved to Northern Virginia. I'm even more loving that their life seems to be built on scams and lies....seriously, who can live with themselves when they lie about everything?

I do love their cahones, though...that kind of "oho, we blend in so we can get in" is kind of rare in DC -- we're more known for the "I'm Sen. X's Chief of Staff" bullshit

The W Post revealed this morning that she's NOT a former Redskin Cheerleader as she claims, either. HA! House of cards, falling down..
do any of you knitters want to take on a wee project (amply compensated, of course)

I saw this adorable elephant headband on flickr and think its perfect for Ben's halloween -- all of the other elephant costumes I've seen are way too bulky and babyish.

Oho Ikea how I love thee......

they now make a play kitchen! How perfect and non-plastaicy and subtle to fit into a boy/girl playroom! This may be The Christmas Present this year. I'm afraid that Ikea will stop selling it before she's 2, when I'd ideally get it for her....

so this is about a month late...

how she got here! )
can any of you guys help me out w/ photoshop?

I only have elements, and need to have a file saved as CYMK as opposed to RGB for printing. I'm finishing up Julia' birth announcements and want to get them printed this week, and want to use overnightprints.com which only takes CYMK files......

thank you :-)

got home from my afternoon of trying to get baby out (walking, massage) to find a box with some luscious body scrub in it, but no note. I'm presuming it came from one of you, and it made my day :)

I've got comments screened, so if you want to claim responsibility without letting others know, you can do so (or not and be happy with the fact that you made me happy today :) )

Okay, this isnt earth shattering or anything, but has reynolds stopped making their plastic wrap? This stuff was the ONLY plastic wrap I liked! The saran wrap doesnt work for dick, and I only see foil stuff on Reynolds' website, so I think its safe to say that they've stopped making it.

may have to make a trip around to the walmarts and stock up on the stuff. I'm crushed.

if only timing was different.....will hold onto this listing regardless, as it might be polarizing enough to keep the "normal" buyers away

[livejournal.com profile] tinksdust, [livejournal.com profile] amcoop and anyone else who's animal-centric, can you give me some input on dog food?

Sammy's been on Nutro since birth, and just read that the company is under investigation for dogs getting sick (Sammy' s usually okay, had a bad run of the barfs a few years ago, but has been mostly okay).

Anyone know more about this? Can you guys recommend some similarly-priced food that has checked out okay? He's 100% dry food, so no canned or raw diet food please :)
then lets hope there wont be adult versions of these:

i dont want to think about sweaty little kid feet fermenting in these. gack.

huh?

since when did everything close for Good Friday? And Easter?
I remember things just being 'normal' those days....we may have had spring break the week prior to easter so schools were closed anyway, but here? Trash doesnt even get picked up!!
Sunday mornings after breakfast I usually do a mad-dash errand run sans Ben. Judd stays home and has a lazy-boys day and I gleefully run around to Target/Walgreens/CVS/grocery store/etc. Because I'm in and out of so many places, sometimes I'll see something that I'll think about later and I'll wish I picked it up.

This, however, is not the case with this item. I thought I saw somewhere a Giant Cheetos. (well, I guess it should be Cheeto). I think it was a little longer than a twinkie, but at least the same girth. I had forgotten about it until last night when said Giant Cheeto worked its way into my dream (I had to pack a lunch for Ben for school today, and he got a Big Cheeto). I woke up wondering if I really had seen this ear-of-corn size cheesiness, or if it was just a wacky dream.

A quick search on my beloved flickr proved that I was right:

but I am afraid.....that's a LOT of cheesiness....
I'm usually a snob when it comes to boxed mixes, and especially a snob when it comes to recipes from the side of the box stuff, but this stuff:

makes really really good biscotti (I drizzled additional white chocolate on the top, not powdered sugar)

Light, Fluffy and Rich Pancakes

Summary

The most time-consuming part of making pancakes is cooking them. But that time is so short you should consider pancakes an everyday convenience food.
