i am katherine. I use to be, and sometimes still am cagey.

i am a wanna be anglophile-hipster-dufus who's integrity is compromised by a government job, realistic spending habits, and a nice 1960's suburban split level (not split foyer) house.

I have one husband (Judd), one dog (Sammy), and one child (Benjamin).

Currently, I'm trying to find balance amongst the following things: being a wife, being a mother, yoga at least 1x a week, working 36 hrs a week in a too-demanding job, managing my lj/internet addiction, and fostering artistic output in the form of photography.

i shy away from capitol letters and my spelling isn't A+ material, but i'm pretty good about punctuation and grammer.

friends/friends only/locked posts The a number of my posts are public - feel free to add me (I think I'm rather friendly!) but don't be offended if I don't add you back (or unfriend you) -- my friends page gets out of control sometimes! Just add a comment to a recent post to say hi and let me know how you found me.

I've been doing a lot more friends only posts due to the Wee One -- I wanna know who's looking at/reading about the kid. Again, not to shut the world out, just to moniter the door!

Think About: Everything Ben, trying to balance work and home (ha!)

Watch on TV:  Lost, Iron Chef America, American Idol, Conan O'Brien, Arrested Development (RIP), Six Feet Under(RIP), Sell This House, Double Agents, Design to Sell, Airport, Veronica Mars (RIP), Dexter, Battlestar Galactica, 30 Rock, Pushing Daisies, Project Runway

Watch repetedly on DVD/Theater: Love Actually, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Young Frankenstein, Princess Bride, Master & Commander, LOTR trilogy, Harry Potter series, Netflix for everything else!

Savor: bread with butter, milk chocolate, steak salad, cheese, waffles, shrimp, mussels with frites, crisp apples, cupcakes, nearly all soups, frozen grapes, Dove dark chocolate.

Drinks: black tea with milk, water with no ice, champange, wine, jack daniels w/ ginger ale, Gerolsteiner, Boddingtons, Slurpees (but NOT crystal lite slurpees!), Lemon Perrier, Mothers Milk Tea (necessity rather than for pleasure)

Give me: mix cd's,  items of good design, interesting (cheap is okay) jewelry, quirky toys, makeup, pointy shoes, netflix credit, itunes credit, some knitted stuff, photographs, bath products, board games, thoughtful v/s costly, your favorite homemade food w/ recipe, unique tools (i.e. Yankee Screwdrivers!)

Don't give me: quilts, country stuff, figurines, "one of a series" anything, most anything with an identifiable logo, camping gear, anything coffee related, anything other than a frame to put a picture in, holiday themed things (especially clothing)

Dislikes:

8:"ducks-with-bows" country themed things, eggs, licorice, panicy people, ringtones, skirts worn over pants, sour towels, toenails
