oppressive heat = movies!
Jul. 27th, 2005 10:43 amEven w/ our central air, it was hot last night. SO we did an impulsive lets-catch-a-movie yesterday. It was Judd's choice (I voted for Charlie or Wedding Crashers, he wanted to see Fantastic Four). It was better than expected, saved only by Michael Chicless (sp) who was awesome.
The night before, we dove through 2 netflix - The Flight of the Pheonix and Ladder 49.
Flight of the Pheonix was a total joke (it COMPLETELY fell apart in the last 10 mintutes).
Ladder 49 was okay - amusing for seeing my town as the setting, and I looorve me some Joaquin. (Too bad I never ran across them while filming.) Seeing Jacinda from Real World:London was funny - I had forgotten that she was in this, and was much better than I thought she's be. I hate the way it was edited, but that's a personal thing (its one of those 'flashback' kind of movies) Its def the kind of movie that your cousin who's a Volunteer Firefighter will own and play all.the.fricking.time, criticising the hose layout and ladder technique & saying "oho! that kind of system wasn't used until 2000, and this is suppose to be the mid 90's!"
Oho, and I apparntly have the skill of starting a massive firestorm riot on photography boards. I was simply asking the photonerds if they got any heat from other guests when they brought a digital SLR to a wedding. I dont want to be the photographer - I just want to get a few good shots that the offical guy won't get....geez, those photo boards are worse than wedding boards! (FWIW, I'm bringing it.)
