waking up to news of another carefully organized terrorist event, especially an event on the eve of one's husband departing to Bogota, isn't really comforting.  I can only imagine the fear, panic, frusturation that's gripping Londoners and those visiting.  When you're in those tunnels in the tube, you feel invincible.

What's even more disturbing is how vigilant the British are concerning left bags and packages....you can barely set a daypack on the ground at your feet without arousing suspicion.

All of this just brings back memories of the spring/summer I was in Oxford, and a (thankfully miswired) bomb was found in one of the "anti-IRA" poster/stationary shops.  The entire city centre was roped off, including the bus terminal, several of the colleges, Blackwells bookstore, and the Bodleian library, while the rest of the shops were searched.  Most of us were causiously curious, walking around the perimeter.  My housemate Kristen, who was an exchange student from Fordham, had a full out panic attack and was calling Virgin Atlantic to change her flight home.  When we told her that the bus terminal was closed, she said she'd walk to London.  Odd how we deal with things differnetly.............

Stay safe everyone.......

This is completely unrelated. I know that we just became livejournal friends, but I had a dream about you.

I went to visit you in Oregon (but in my dream it was near British Columbia, go figure), and you were living on a “tribal farm” with the Innuits (which I believe are in Greenland). So, that was the dream.

I guess I had to place you together from the few pictures you posted. Rest assured, Sammy was there, in full swing!

Anyway, I’m a weirdo. Haha

haha..I had dreams involving random people I don't really know ALL the time.

SO, does this mean that I'll move to Oregon? Be a farmer? Live in an ice hut? how wacky!

That was one of my first thoughts, as well. How could this happen??

The attacks this morning were quite disturbing. With Dennis traveling to/from NYC by train and subway I immediately called him when I woke up just to make sure he had heard about it and was extra cautious should there be a parallel attack here.

As I watched the news for hours it disturbed me even more to hear that because of today's attacks the NYC police department was doing random searches of the subways, train stations, etc. Shouldn't they be doing this everyday anyway?
