Its days like today that make me really want to quit my job and open up a boutique. Since its more fun to think about the things I'd sell than it is to think about briefings, sinkholes, GIS failures, and contract modifications, here goes.
Things in Vernacular Life's virtual boutique:
-wall of amusing cards - many will be photographs w/ blank interiors, most will be slighty edgy.
-small rack of by-the-sheet wrapping paper with things like the faces of Mexican Wrestlers on them
-a small selection of low-tech kid toys like Wonder Waterfuls
-artist designed jewelry in a variety of price ranges
-a section of "Quarter Things" -- little rubber balls, spider rings, fake vampire teeth, finger puppets, etc.
-cool handbags like those by Your Sister's Mustache
-some dog/cat stuff, like a few toys and collars/leashes
-designery housewares like platters, carafe, serveware, etc
-bath accessories, like the Sushi Shower Curtain
-Blik wall graphics
-random weird things like Gnome Soap
no clothes (except maybe some fun graphic t-shirts), no furniture, no food.
I'd have an online store, but it would be all about 'wandering in to see what's new' and walking out with a wind-up desk toy.
