to me, Digital  Scrapbooking (aka digiscrapping) one's photos is the equivalent of decorating your house in "Ducks with Bows" country.

with all of the sites that offer printed books (Ofoto, Iphoto, etc), all at reasonable prices, why, why, why??

eta:  this one's the worst...horrible layout.

I'm not a scrapbooker at all. But if given the choice between doing it dititally and the *regular* way I'd choose digital. O course I'd hope that what I came up with didn't look like crap.

I just can't get over the $$$$$ that the supplies go for! $5 for a 'background' page?!

I agree w/ you - the digital is MUCH better, but I'm more for letting my pics speak. Having a text block isn't bad, but most times, do you really need more than the date & names of people in the pic?

I can't get over how expensive it is to scrapbook either. Plus I don't have the patience to sit there and cut out little things and glue them to paper.

My idea of scrapbooking is actually more like journaling. I'd rather tell a story about an event that includes pictures rather then have some random *cute* stuff on page that doesn't really say much at all.

I agree--I find it more impressive to see a simple presentation of a few really good photos. No excess design stuff on the page to distract from the photo.

Wait. People actually scrapbook online? Um, okay.

I think there's an Adobe program that does this now....

Well, Photoshop Elements will create a photo album, but then you can order it, so you actually have the book in hand. I just don't "get" the concept of scrapbook pages on the computer. I can't wrap my brain around it at all.

I'm getting PE as soon as I get my new camera!

I love the photo books - they look so good & are so reasonable!

You know, I have a few books that I need to order. Who do you like the most for that?

I've only ordered from Ofoto (now known as kodakgallery.com). It was abit of a pain to upload, but relatively easy to put in the order you want and add/delete pages. Each theme & layout style has its own quirks (some would have only a few lines for text, others had many lines), but overall, they were cheap (coupons can be found nearly everywhere online), SUPER speedy shipping, and look great.

If you have a Mac, there's a similar priced option from Iphoto. I'd think that it would be easier to layout there, as you'd do it offline then upload to buy......
