It will be a little while until we get this completely done - the vanity/sink will be replaced, but not until the new floor goes in on 3 June. Final paint color is going to be cocoa brown -- kind of a medium brown......

Before………… Actually, these aren't even the REAL horror of before....imagine this bathroom with a 3-part sliding shower door (bronze w/ mirrors!), a wooden toilet seat, wooden towel bars and plastic pink frilly curtains. Those went about 2 hours after we closed on the house....click for closeups.........if you dare!

During……………… Even thought we're having professionals install the new flooring, we tore up the tile ourselves. We ARE leaving the pink tile in the tub---its in good condition (replaced about 5 years ago), but the color's bad. We're leaning to getting it reglazed (along with the tub) later on. I looked into ripping it out and replacing it, but this is our only full bath, and we didn't want to deal with being without a shower for who knows how long. I was really against the bath fitter things, as I like tile, so for now, its gonna stay pink..... As shown by the 3rd pic here, even Sam thinks its scary in there! I cant tell you how much of an improvement it is in there even now by ripping out the hideous medicine cabinet and ratty pink paper............

! Happily, the half bath is more complete. I def. need to do some more sanding/touchup paint because the klieg lights that are in there show every.single.flaw.
Towel bars, aqua towels, small decorative touches and new floor to follow!  I'm not sure what, if anything, I'll do to the shutters.  Part of me wants to paint them brown, but that's going to be messy.....  As for the mirror, I'm a bit torn about the shelf - I may remove it.....

Remove the shelf, and I'll kick your ass! I love the mirror! Where did you get it and please tell me it was reasonably priced because it would be perfect in our cracker-boxed-sized powder room!

Love the color you picked for the powder room as well!

mirror was from Linens n Things -- it was about $69, but I used a 20% off coupon on it.

The photo doesn't do the mirror justice -- it's got about a 4 inch high piece of wood at the top of it -- kind of like the shelf was flat mounted at the top (know what i mean?)

thanks! Judd keeps making fun of the 'self lighting' bathroom...at night when the lights are on, it DOES light up the hallway!

thanks! I think the general concensious is to leave the shelf. I'll see how many times my ham-handed friends bang into it while trying to wash their hands...

Wow, what a huge improvement! I like the shelf. I also like the sconces. The physicist did a pretty good job despite the challenges. :)

I wanted an orange or lime green room, so orange won!

I actually like home improv stuff...I like having little projects to do where you see progress

The color is unbelievable - I love, love, love it. :) At the risk of sounding like a broken record - keep the shelf. It looks handy.
