grahh! The remodeling continues......

vernacular_lifehome repairs are progressing
no lights for downstairs yet (hopefully tomorrow?!), and upstairs is in barely working order (no flooring except for the cement board on the floor, over which I've laid carpets, no mirror, no med cabinet). I don't find it that horrible, and would even not mind to rip out the vanity and use the downstairs sink only, but someone doesn't want to demo it yet. Good news is that all of the tile flooring came up very easily w/ nominal damage to the walls/subflooring. Painting can begin on most of the walls asap!
The flooring has finally come in, and we're scheduled for an install on Friday 3 June so that we can spend the weekend getting the bathroom put back together. Problems:
+My dad's in town that day, and not only will this be a mess w/ someone else around, but he'll also be interveining in the work
(He's a major handyman and can't stand the fact that we're hiring someone to insall flooring
)
+that's the only Friday that Judd can take off for 6 weeks, and I certainly can't pull toilets out on my own.
My solution is to offer to pay for my dad to stay in a local hotel for $58/night.....he's agreeable, but protested saying "oho, I can handle the mess!" um, its not about him handling the mess, its about having one more person to fight over the half bath.
In other news, saw Star Wart ROTS -- it wasn't bad, but Lucas really made the audience fill in the plot gaps. I love me some Ewan, so overall good popcorn flick.
Gahh..work calls., and from the way it looks, its gonna be a WINNER of a day....I'd SO much rather be home playing with Sammy!
