whoo it FINALLY feels like fall here!

weekend was pleasant and relaxing -- nice for a change!

-Friday, I left work early to go to a Gem & Jewelry show taking place nearby in an attempt to find someone who could do a mounting for an emerald that kind of looks like this, but in white gold/plat. NO such luck. Did walk out w/ a cool silver necklace that's basically a bunch of squished squares interconnected (pic to follow!). Went home, did some planting of shrubs, fed Sammy his Hamburger dinner (licked that bowl CLEAN!), and watched Mean Girls, which was quite enjoyable & better than exepected.

-SATURDAY we headed out to the local Reniassance Festival (no, we don't dress up, but did have smashing princess hats, courtsey of [livejournal.com profile] mightyterp) There was a threat of rain all day, but luckily got nary a drop. Much fun was had watching jousing, consuming Things On A Stick, and consuming German Ale. Oho, and got to catch my all time favourite sideshow performer: Johnny Fox, Swordswallower Extraordinaire. Tried to go see Shawn of the Dead, but it was sold out, so just went home....

-SUNDAY finished the planting of the front shrub bed in the morning, watched some football, then just did some bills, organizaing of photos, etc. Watched the premere of Desperate Housewives & rather amused by it. Any time you get Melrose Place's Kimberly in a new show you can't go wrong. How weird is that the only 2 new shows that I've watched this season are on ABC??

I didn't think it was trashy, but more campy or soap-opera-drama-y. Regardless, there's about as true to life as any sci-fi program I've ever seen!

As for the ring, at least I have a couple of photos to give someone to give them an idea!

Ha - Melrose place used to be a guilty pleasure of mine years ago. I didn't watch that show (I have to admit, I wanted to check it out, but I'm sure hubby would have protested).

Glad you had a great time at the festival.

what's funny is that JUDD wanted to watch it more than I did!
