Hey [livejournal.com profile] rebelbets or anyone else who may know:

I'm ordering a king cake for the office from Haydel's....Should I stick with the traditional Cream Cheese filling? Or go with one of their other flavors (German Chocolate chip, Pecan Praline, Strawberry Creme Cheese)?

Have you ever gotten anything from Charmed City Cakes? Because, um, yeah, how cool would that be?!?!

nope.....WAY too $ (like $1000 a cake!!) and the few people I know who've eaten their cakes say that a) fondant frosting = nasty, and the cake itself was so-so.

I do get amused watching them drive around town, though :)

How cool that you get to see the Charm City cake folks drive around!!! I've heard that about their cakes - but think they are all adorable & do great work at least visually.

I miss having king cakes now that I no longer work in an office.

Oh & I had to roll my eyes at a recent episode where this 6 year old kid got his 6th birthday cake from them (6 years in a row). And here I was concerned about the price of Katie's b-day cake from Super Target. :D

I saw that episode too where Mary Alice wore the cowboy hat to deliver the cake! They lived in a super nice house too...haha.

The only one I'd get would be pecan praline. Definite NO to German chocolate chip - I mean, it might be good, but that just seems wrong in king cake. Plain cream cheese is my favorite.

People loooove the pecan praline, but I'm not a good judge, because I don't like pecans. You can't go wrong with the cream cheese, though. Mmmmm....king cake.
