vernacular_lifeI just found out about Alchemy on etsy where you list what you want and people will kind of reverse bid....
I've been wanting a clapotis scarf for ages and posted a request. 2 hours later, had 12 bidders (yes, some with more experience than others, some with wayyy more etsy sales than others) and not only found someone to make one, but she suggested bamboo rather than the super pricey silky tencel. Sure, I could have probably conned a friend who kind of knits into making me one, but she wouldnt want to accept $ for her labor and it could take months and months, but this way not only helping out a crafty girl, but getting what I want without introducing potential problems into a friendship.
