You've played around looking at celebrity playlists on Itunes.....now its your turn! Give me the playlist you'd post were you a celebrity. It doesn't have to be your all time favorites...maybe it's just your favorites at the moment, or songs that make you think of someone or something.
here's mine:
1) Radiohead - Climbing up the Walls
Never been a HUGE MONSTEROUS radiohead fan, but keep coming back to their 'not as popular songs' and rediscovering them. Havent gotten the new album yet...
2) R.E.M - In the Air
I love the 'mature' Micheal Stipe. His voice is angelic in this song.
3) Stephen Stills - Treetop Flyer
Dont know how I first came across this song, but find its simplicity absolutely brilliant.
4) The Pixies - Gouge Away
What I want to hear when I'm rapidly changing gears when driving in the city, being a bit too aggressive, but confident in my 'city driving' skills. Makes me feel badass.
5) Rolling Stones - Play with Fire
This makes me cry sometimes....yeah, Mick Jagger. Who'd of thunk. I love the menacing tone and have visualized singing it to ex boyfriends...and a total 2:30am song.
6) Hippopotomus Rock - Rosenshortz
A kids tune. By good lord, a catchy one. Judd and I sing it at least once a day.
7) Karma Killer - Robbie Williams
My 'I use to have a life before married with children' song. I <3 Robbie. This is one to sing in the car on the highway at night at top volume.
8) Coulibaly - Amadou & Mariam
Introed to my by Judd. World music but not too out there. Reminds me of Mexico...
9) Shade & Honey - Alessandro Nivola
Yes, the actor. This is a song from the film Laurel Canyon, by one of my fav writers/directors, Lisa Cholodenko. (also wrote and directed High Art w/ Ally Sheedy). Nivola's character is in a band, and he did all of the vocals. Written by the guy from Sparklehorse (Mark Linkous), and it's so apparant once you've heard Sparklehorse. Anyway, love love this.
10) Leif Erikson - Interpol
I cannot cannot get enough of this song. Its haunting, droning, and unlike any other Interpol song I've heard. Its, what? 4 years old? And I'm still playing it nonstop?

I can't seem to get this song out of my head for days.
Fake Plastic Trees - Radiohead
Eric turned me on to Radiohead. I'm forever grateful.
Never Going Back Again - Fleetwood Mac
Always loved this song. Makes me think of summer.
Only You - Joshua Radin
I'm a sucker for an adorable singer/songwriter. His voice makes me melt.
Long Ride Home - Patty Griffin
She is a goddess. I could do a whole playlist of just her stuff. Her songs just hit me hard.
If I Told You So - Jonatha Brooke
Ditto with Jonatha! The only artist I've seen perform live twice!
Cashmir Pulaski Day - Sufjan Stevens
Thank you, vernacular_life, for making me aware of the yummy music goodness that is Sufjan!
Street Fighting Man - The Rolling Stones
One of my husband's favorite Stones songs. I can't listen to it and not think of him!
Blister in the Sun - The Violent Femmes
The song I break out and listen to in order to remind myself that there was a time I wasn't a responsible wife and mother. Makes me feel like I'm a bad-ass back in college, if only for a few minutes.
You Could Be Happy - Snow Patrol
My current favorite song. Heard it in an episode of Tell Me You Love Me and downloaded it immediately.
Tonight and the Rest of My Life - Nina Gordon
OK. I admit it. I'm a total sucker for this song. There. I said it, so shut up!
Somebody to Love - Jefferson Airplane
Another song I love to blast when I'm in the car at night with all the windows down.
This Year's Love - Laura Shay
The David Gray song that was covered by a local artist (Laura Shay) and performed during the domestic violence benefit show I did last year. I'm so hoping she'll put it on her next album, since it doesn't actually exist as a recording yet.
