Next weekend we're headed to NY/NJ for a wedding. Wedding is Saturday at noon in an old hotel, reception is at 1. Its going to be casual as weddings go, and I had dug up a pair of nice 'dress' khakis from Liam's stash for Ben to wear along with a new blue and white striped oxford and navy lace up shoes.

Then my mom says to me "oho, he's not wearing little boy dress shorts??"

So now, a week before we leave, I'm searching on Talbots kids and ebay for navy blue dress shorts. I think I'll still leave him in his blue and white shirt and socks.





There's these that have an elastic waist and belt loops (and crotch snaps for easier changes!)

OR should I just leave well enough alone? 

I THINK the look I'm kind of thinking of is like this, minus the peter pan collar. I think we've missed the window of opportunity for the Sailor suit, plus Judd would kill me dressing Ben like that.


If it were up to my mom, he'd wear this with white knee socks and white oxfords:

HELL NO you haven't missed the sailor suit window! But bear in mind, I am in the Deep South, where we dress our boys in smocked jon-jons until they are 4.

That Eton suit is killing me.

I dont think I can sway Judd to the Sailor suit, though. I'm trying hard to not spend $50 on the Eton suit. Its not like he's IN the wedding!!! Geez, I need to get a grip.

Man, the mail is slow, isn't it? Seems like I mailed those things over a week ago. I'm glad they'll work for you. I was so sad to try them on Scott and have the sleeves come halfway up his forearms.
