needless to say, the morning walk that Sammy and I take was cancelled. I literally had to push him out into the backyard this morning to get him to do his business!!!!   8.6 degrees makes for a cold bathroom break!!!

Oho, and whenever it's horrible weather, the Baltimore Light Rail shuts down. True to form, today was no exception. Luckily, my boss called me before I left to say that the southern end was down, so I drove in rather than wait 30+ minutes for the "bus bridge" to link the stations together.

Weekend was lovely but uneventful. Ditched a friend's christmas party on Friday b/c of sheer exhaustion and the fact that I'd been "partying" all afternoon. Curled up with a movie (Collatteral, which was okay) and soup + bread from Panera bread. YUM!

Sat morning, woke up and made a big patch of Gingerbread pancakes, handled a few hours worth of billings, wrote christmas cards, and did some cleaning (borrring!!)

Took Sammy to the dog park yesterday morning before it got wicked cold (yesterday was his "gotcha" day -- hard to believe we've had him a year!!) and he was fine until a gigantus Great Dane came in and Sammy decided that the Great Dane was his arch enemy. Nobody really fought, but our brainless wonder kept nagging the big dog, so we decided it was time to go....he'd been in there for about an hour, and was getting tired and cranky apparantly.

Otherwise, just trying to wrap up loose ends before heading to FL on Wednesday. I've got an appt with an Orthopediest to find out why my knees ache/sound like styrafoam and see if there's anything other than pills and surgery that can help. Fun stuff. Hopefully, can do the last bit of shopping done after the appt --- as of now, my bro +family WILL be stopping by after we get back from Florida, so I'll have to have all the presents for my parents/brother/grandmother ready to go instead of mailing them/seeing them in mid January....everything that I don't have now will either have to come from the outlet mall near the In-laws or not at all...

Last night around 10 when we were leaving Andrew's grandmother's it was 3! We were crazy and were walking the dogs when it was about 9 out on Saturday.

Last I looked at our thermometer it was 16 here. Brrr! At least it didn't snow/sleet/ice/rain much last night (as it was predicted to do) so though it's cold the roads are fine.

Plus I saw it's supposed to go back up to almost 60 by Thursday. But you'll be in a much warmer climate by then anyway.

Collateral is on its way to house from Netflix today.

Wow, was that record cold for you guys? My friend in VA said something about those kinds of temps too and I couldn't believe it. She's a Chicago native - so maybe its comforting?

Sammy sounds like a toddler! (he was tired and cranky) :P

Have fun in sunny FL. Man, that sounds nice. Also, good luck w/ last minute shopping. Bye!

I was just in the kitchen and thought of you! I know that for your knees you were looking for a non-pill solution but I've got a suggestion that might work. Of course I don't know what's wrong with your knees. Anyway, my FIL has been taking glucosmine for a few months now. He said that taking a pill two or three times a week has made a big difference in his joints. He said that his usual joint pain from excercising as well as aging isn't there anymore. We started taking the stuff yesterday to see what it does for us since we both experience slight joint aches after harder workouts. I thought I'd mention it to you just in case you'd be interested.
