where do you go to get the oil changed in your car? I'm not talking major repairs, just the every five-thousand-mile fluid and filter, and a check of everything else to make sure things look okay under the hood (i.e. brake pad inspection, etc)

The dealership when it's included as part of the warranty and jiffylube or a local shop if it's not.

I've had terrible luck with Quick Lube/Jiffy Lube type places (like spilling oil all over my engine & me thinking I had a leak...)

Dealership only for me.

I go every 5 or 6K miles too. Hubby thought I was nuts, until the dealer said the same thing (that the car would go that long as a minimum).

Dennis changes our oil at home. However my filter is in the worst position which makes it difficult to take out unless the car is up off the ground so if I'm taking the car to our local shop for other things and it's close to an oil change I'll ask them to do it.
