More zoo lovers, originally uploaded by jdemaree.

On Saturday, we went to Brew at the Zoo....a fundraiser where you got to sample local microbrews and wander around the zoo. Sounds fun, right? Especially as we had friends last year that said there were about 10 beer tents scattered through the zoo and it was nice and low key.

This year, not the same......the photo (not taken by me, hooray for flickr!) illustrates what it was instead: Brew at a grassy area OUTSIDE of the Zoo. We couldn't use our membership (had to stand in a huge ass line to get beer tix), AFTER it took us 45 to get parked.....THEN we stood in line for 10-15 to get a Cup of beer.

I know it was for a good cause, but next year? We'll just send $40 directly to the zoo.

Ouch. Looks like word got out and the event got a little too big for itself. What a shame - it's a great concept otherwise!

I think that's it exactly.....and I'm wondering if some dumbasses spoiled it last year by getting shitfaced and trying to mess with the animals, thus this year, they pulled it out of the zoo proper....

That does not look like fun. I hate crowds, mostly because I'm short and feel claustrophobic. ;) At least the weather looks decent.

at least there were places to sit down, but it was still NOT as advertised. As Judd said, next year we'll buy a 12 pack of good beers and turn on Animal Planet at home :P
