this was a real quickie pan, and I don't think that I gave the VR a chance to start working..

taken yesterday....trying to test the low light limits, and may have been okay if my subject wasn't moving :)
I do think it was too slow anyway (tv console blurry, too), but then again, I might not have realized that I have to keep the shutter button half pushed for a second to 'start' the VR. Love this photo anyway, though



full disclosure: did some adjusting of midtones in photoshop - it seems that most of my outdoor shots are 1 stop overexposed for my tastes.....

overall VR lens notes:
--I need to get more comfortable with panning.
--REALLY impressed how quickly it focuses
--love that a tulip lens hood came with it - never had one before and loved it outside today
--think that the VR is more 'valuable' for zoom than for lower light, esp considering my subject matter these days.

Thus far, quite happy!

I wanted to eat the color and sharpness up with a spoon in that first shot. Wowzas. I order my 70-200 today - finally convinced the hubby that I *have* to have it for my classes (I don't - I just really, really want it). ;)
