and let the madness begin!!
Dec. 6th, 2004 11:26 amtotal insanity is beginning.......a peek inside my calender indicates the following:
-this week: out of office for meetings 2 days
-this weekend: head to San Francisco from Saturday until Tuesday
-next week: out Monday and Tuesday (SF), office party on Friday (worthless day)
-following week (christmas week): Leave Wed for Florida
last week: in FL on Monday, probably take Tuesday off, then friday is holiday.
This indicates that from now until January, I will have a total of 9 PRODUCTIVE WORK DAYS
In between all of that, I have to bake a ton of cookies, cakes and make some homemade Kaluha for gifts. Shopping is pretty much done except for my grandmother (cozy vest and an amarylis bulb will do the job) and some trinkets for my parents and brother, the both of which will be easy to find in SF.
It was Decoration Day this weekend, and the house is 80% Christmassy. Tree looks nice (I'll load pics tonight) and we have a few of us in front of it that are decent enough for a (what will be late) christmas photo card. Had fun dressing Sammy up in a bow tie collar that we found. He wasn't pleased.
Still no word if my brother will stop and visit on the Tuesday after we get back from Florida, but we decided that there's no way we're going to Virginia to see them. Our lives are just too insane right now, so if they can't take a 10 minute detour off of the highway to stop by for lunch or tea + cookies, then we just won't see them.

Date: 2004-12-06 04:31 pm (UTC)I dont' usually like 'real' Kaluha, but this stuff is TASTEE! I last made some a few years ago as part of the 'thank you' gifts for the friends/family who helped us with our wedding. I heard no complaints!!

Date: 2004-12-06 05:04 pm (UTC)We were cracking up at the bow tie pics with Sammy last night. I'll post more tonight (inc the big version of the icon--he's got such a sad face!!) There's one where he's squinting his eyes shut like a little kid saying "NO MORE PICTURES!!!!"

Date: 2004-12-06 08:36 pm (UTC)Even though I feel like there is still so much left to do for Christmas I'm enjoying it. I can't wait to start making cookies and other treats. Your homemade Kaluha sounds delish!
