I know that some of you have posted in the past couple of months about photo albums via the web. I'm annoyed with the kodak ones, and the ones on Iphoto are too $$ and neither are flexible enough for me...

what ones have you used and liked?

I've used Shutterfly and found their books acceptable. Not the greatest, but good enough for the price. Someone in photo class last night complained about Kodak Gallery, too. However, someone else brought one she made with mac.com and it looked awesome!

I've used the iphoto/mac.com books before and they're okay....I'm going to try downloading the blurb.com software and see how that looks.

My main complaint with most sites is how few page layouts there are, esp for portrait shots.

Let me know how blurb.com is. I'll be looking for some place to make a photo book in the spring once I have stuff ready for my parents' anniversary book.

I had trouble with the layouts on blurb, but it may have just been me.

I had pretty good luck with Qoop.com for xmas presents, but I ordered the smallest size album since all of my wedding pictures were scans.

oh, another thing I liked about qoop is that you can import pics directly from flickr. there's a link to it somewhere on flickr, which is how i found out about it. supah cheap, too.

We had a book printed up last year from Flickr, and it was really slick.

did you get a paperback one or a hardback? I couldnt find any hardback books through Flickr, which stinks.

The only one I've ever actually used is Mypublisher.com. The quality was good, but I thought they could have used more layout options. However, next time I use one (I think I'll try blurb.com), I think I'll probably create my "layouts" in Photoshop first (i.e., set a small photo into a larger one first, then upload it as just one picture and use the "full page" layout from the software). More work that way, but vastly more customizable.

I found your website through onelargecat, I used Photoworks.com and really liked how it turned out. I'd show you pictures of it, but I gave it as a gift. The software was pretty easy to work with too. And I loved that it looked like a photo book you'd buy at a bookstore.
