++I'm both sad and happy that World Cup is over. Sad that it will be another 4 years before decent Footy is shown on mainstream US tv, but happy that I'm no longer a slave to 2-3 matches a day

++Thank you ZiZu for giving some drama to the finale. Your headbutt is the US equilant of Michael Jordan or Cal Ripken punching someone in the face. LOVE that he was still Man of the Match. I predict headbutts will be the Fashion statement of the fall





++fell asleep WITHOUT a pacifier last night
++did not fuss last night when put to bed, even once
++Slept from 8:00 - 5:45 -- whahhoo! (I know its not a pattern yet, but hey, one night every now and then ROCKS!!)






++am I the only one who didn't know that Anderson Cooper is Gloria Vanderbilt's son?!?

++I really like the new show Kyle XY. Its kind of like Starman, but better. And its repeated about 50 times a week on various cable channels, and you can watch it for free online

++Judd, too, is on love with Veronica Mars. I just hope that we can catch up with season 2 when it comes out on DVD before the new season starts.

Ah, thanks. I guess then I won't frequently get chastised by the Brits, French, etc. that I have to talk to at work about our lack of interest in the game like I did this year. I also was asked "why do you Americans insist on calling that game Football! It makes no sense! Downs, yards - it makes no sense!" I was going to point out the same thing about Cricket, but I skipped it.

Same here. I dated a Pakistani guy who was enamored with it and I would make fun of the crazy game. That, the card game Euchre and binary code elude me to this day! :)

I thought the Rooney/Carvalho stomping incident was bad, but that headbutt was incredible. My husband was in another room when it happened and I think I really gave him a scare when I screamed, "OH MY GOD!" He thought I had hurt myself somehow.

I 'understand' the Rooney stomp more than the headbutt. The stomp took a microsecond of processing and, while deliberate, wasn't so blatent.

The fact that Zizou walked BACK to do the headbutt, with no one else around him, is what blew me (and probably the entire world) away.

Judd said that it was probably the only time that 90% of the world said at the same time, "WTF?!" :P
