San Francisco, Sammy, and a nice day off
Nov. 12th, 2004 11:24 amNot only is it cold today (low 40's) but it's raining cats and dogs. SO SO SO happy that I'm not camping tonight
- Just looked up our hotel in SF again, and saw this note:
Challenge us to a round of blackjack when you check in and you can win a free upgrade, free local calls or a bevy of other fun prizes. And if we win, all we ask is a donation of $5 towards our pet charity, the San Francisco SPCA
How awesome is that?! Must start making my resteraunt list & reservations asap. I figure we've got 3 dinners together, and I def. want to hit Ace Wasabi again. Anyone have any suggestions for the visiting foodies?
- I was 30 minutes late getting into work today because I was rivited to the tv watching the madness of Arafat's burial. My guess is that 20 people had to have been killed. It was like watching a car race
- Enjoyed a nice day off yesterday -- did a bit of yardwork (9 bags of leaves?!) did some birthday shopping for niece Emma who's 2 today and my grandmother, who will be about 80 years older than Emma. Afterwards, went into town w/ Judd to my fav. music store to sell some CD's and buy a few that we can't get on I-tunes. Finished off the evening unexpectedly at Brewers Art and about 3 pints of belgian beer, garlic/roseamary fries, and a stinky cheese pizza. YUUMMY!
- Did a new experiement with Sammy last night by NOT locking him in the laundry room to see how he does. I think he slept upstairs in the office (don't want him sleeping in our room) and there was a little evidence of him having roamed around (potholder on the kitchen floor, etc) but otherwise seemed okay. I think we're going to start leaving him unlocked when we're at work, too. Usually, he just sleeps in his crate when we're gone, so hopefully he'll be content and not tear anything up. I know we have the big alarm, but isn't the point of having a dog also to be a bit protective??
- Weekend plans include friend Erika's party on Saturday. Should be a nice wide mix of people, which is always appreciated. She mentioned that she's getting a keg, but she's a Wine Girl, so all the bases sound like they're covered. I'm a bit worried about the food (chili, chips & salsa, etc) but I'm bringing pepperoni bread, so it ain't gonna be a high-class affair, but fun regardless.

Date: 2004-11-12 04:51 pm (UTC)9 bags of leaves?!?! I guess that's one good thing about living without the gorgeous foilage - not much to rake up in the yard. I think I'd rather have the prettiness though...
Our pups are slowly gaining their freedom like Sammy. They now sleep free in the kitchen area (they were crated before) and on cold or rainy days they have kitchen and patio access instead of staying in their kennel. They've been really good so far, but I'm just waiting for the naughty teenage behavior to surface.
