Happy VD, LJ'ers!

The morning didn't start of better -- my usually 15-minute-train-ride turned into an hour, but at least I had a charge in my Ipod and could block out the yelling of my co-riders. LOVE public transportation!

I have a 2pm date with my dentist, so we'll see if I can get out of there and still get to have tea w/ Judd at 4:00. Its tight, but possible.

: And now, some random notes on the Olympics:

Am I the only one who thinks Michelle Kwan is a big ol drama queen crybaby? She whined to get the 3rd slot on the team, then quit because she knows that she can't get the gold. She should watch the tape of the Chinese pairs skaters who fell, then picked themselves up and got a silver medal. On repeat. THAT'S olympic spirit, not "I only compete if I feel my best". She robbed her 'backup', who was legitimately the #3 in the country, the chance for the opening ceremonies and the first few days. Biatch.

Oho, and the medals? FUUUGLY. They look like a CD that's hanging around one's neck. Thought the Italians would have more style!

Thought the Italians would have more style!

In most cases, sure, but then there is Italian jewelry.

Hmmm -- a long commute isn't a great way to start the day. Here's hoping that today gets much better -- hopefully a nice tea will erase yesterday's ickiness.

Totally agree on the fug of the medals.

I hope you're able to make tea with Judd without any problems.

I agree with the medals. They just don't look as cool as some of the others in the past have been. I don't like the donut/CD look either. I like the ones more representative of the location of the games, sort of like how the state quarters have a little something about each state on them.

Overall I'm getting tired of the talk and hype around some of the athletes. For me I think the buzz about Bode is worse than Michelle. Although once skating gets underway and we hear even more pity party stories I might change my mind.

oho yeah, the snowboarders annoy me from all angles - and it looks like they're wearing old Yankees uniforms!

I don't know what's worse - their outfits or their "surfer/boarder dude talk" when being interviewed.

I really haven't seen much Olympic coverage yet but I've heard more than I care to about Michelle Kwan. I totally agree on your assessment of her. She really stole some of Emily Hughes legitimate time to be at the Olympics.

I haven't really watched the Olympics, so I haven't seen the medals. I have to see them now!

Oh, and points to icon.
