I just got this email from a friend, mass mailed out to about 20 people:

Just wondering what U folks were doing 4 NYE?  I need to find/make a party!!!!!

I've never been a fan of NYE (too much hype) and certainly don't think I'm in the mood for a 5-exclaimation-point party, or one with IM/Prince style spelling.

Next year, may start a new tradition of New Years Day open house, but not this year.

LMAO One of my queens uses that type of spelling as well. Why do we have these type of friends?

I think a tradition of a N Y D O H sounds great! (sorry I couldn't resist!)

Actually - I think I may co-opt that for myself!

I had friends in grad school who'd do them all the time...great for those w/ kids, and much more relaxed/laid back!

Besides, what do you do on NYD anyway??

Eric and I have New Year's tradition of ordering out for sushi, drinking champagne, and then eating junk food (usually chips and salsa or cheese and crackers) and watching movies until midnight. Then we go to bed. That's it. I do believe it's my favorite holiday.

Don't be jealous... :P
