I THINK we have pretty much settled on this crib, but in the 'hazelnut' color:

I don't want one of those odd dresser/changing table combo things. We searched Ikea for something suitable and came up empty handed.  Don't want to spend $600+ on something at this point.

I was leaning towards a more traditional dresser that Baby W can use for a few years without it looking like baby furniture, then move it to a guest room where it won't suffer the wear and tear of a teenage boy:

Here are the choices, can't decide.......Mission-y or Clean and streamlined/aka Shaker??

The guy in your icon looks just like someone in my grad school program.

nice furniture. I like both dressers but I like the second one best with the crib. :)

That's the one that I was leaning to more, too! (and whee! Its $20 cheaper!)

the crib is adorable and I like the second dresser. Plus you can get one of those changing pads that you just attach the top of the dresser. MUCH smarter purchase in my humble opinion.

I like the 2nd one w/ the crib you selected. I'm a big mission furniture fan, but the 2nd one matches a bit better.

Cute. I also don't think you need a changing table thing--it totally makes more sense to buy furniture that you/he can use for years and years.

I like the crib! And I also like the second dresser. I think it goes better with the crib but even without considering the crib I like it better. I'd also think that a straight dresser without a built in changing thing would last longer. You could continue to use it after Baby W is past the changing stage.

We just got the changing pad and put it on top of a plain dresser. Worked fine for us until she got too big to be on it!

Liking the second dresser as well. :)

Liking your icon even more! :)
