me, now and in the future......
Sep. 28th, 2005 10:40 pmwarning: extremely random, but at least in choronological order.....:
*2nd MDW appt tomorrow - dont expect anything big (should be able to hear the heartbeat as opposed to seeing it). Will again ask about okay to travel in late Jan to Mexico (technically, end of my 2nd Tri). Also plan on getting a 'doctors note' to justify my needing this chair, which I've only been requesting for 3 years. stoopid budget cuts eliminated the 'everyone gets one' this year...now on an as-needed basis.
*For you non-federal people, this week marks the end of FY-05, which means long hours of trying to spend those last dollars authorized by Congress. Typically it means the last day of Sept (Friday, in this case) a bunch of us end up staying late and executing contracts. Yippee. Luckily, my main project doesn't have expiring funds, but I help others out if need be. Hey, I get free pizza out of it! :P
*Saturday = The Decemberists. Yay! Cute indie kids! The only reason I have convinced Judd to go is that his friend/coworker/Alaska Resident James is back in town for a week and is going. Payback time for the rowdy punk shows he takes me to.....
*Next weekend is the Maryland Million horserace, the main reason James is out here. He actually owns a couple of horses now, and one (Mr. Song and Dance.....hee!) is a contender for the big race.
*Hopefully next weekend will break my "I'm not in the mood to take photos of anything" mood.
*Columbus day we have off, but I still have to wake up early....2nd ultrasound is scheduled that day at 8:30.
*Following weekend is Big Trip to El Paso for Nephew Liam's birthday/christening. Should be good for stories, if nothing else. I nearly posted a poll about what I should get him for a christening pressie (Savings bond, silver bank, etc), but then came across these silver alligator bib clips and thought they were too perfect. Nice to toss into a diaper bag and use when out with a napkin instead of bringing a gross bib back home.

Date: 2005-09-29 03:14 am (UTC)Yup. The conference last week and the training this week were both thanks to budgeting craziness thanks to Uncle Sam. I can't wait for the new FY. It will be nice to have time to breathe again.
I hope the MDW hands over a note for the Aeron. That would be very sweet indeed. :-)

Date: 2005-09-29 01:10 pm (UTC)Since 'leather' is the traditional gift, I'm telling Judd that I want the leather chairs for our dining room....dont' think he'll fall for it!

Date: 2005-09-29 12:31 pm (UTC)That chair is sexy. My husband's seen a whole row of them in a lab at Lockheed Martin Syracuse. A wonderful sight, he said :) Enjoy it when you do finally get it!!
That's a beautiful horse! Good luck to Mr. Song and Dance :)
