wine recommendations - Kir

can any of you winos recommend a cheap, mass market white wine that mixes well with Kir? In France, they use 'white burgundy' but I don't really want to shell out $20 for what my local packie calls white b.

big bottles are good, so are (gasp) boxes!

we do have trader Joe's but the ones in MD don't sell wine, but I will check it out the next time I get out to the one in VA.

Anything else? Can one of the Yellowtails or something be a substitute?
