vernacular_lifeso last night, the battle of American Idol, the Contender finale, and Romber's wedding ensued on our TV...
the contender won, with a side dish of Romber Wedding (awwww....! )when the fight was over. I taped A.I., so I'll catch up on that this afternoon -- as for the AI finale, don't need 2 hours to tell me who won..............besides a 2 hour LOST definately takes precident....
I have mixed feelings on the Contender finale....the first fight (which I didn't know would happen) was AMAZING. I love me some Alfonso-- I don't mind Jesse, but seeing lil' Alfonso fight his heart out was amazing! Jesse had to have at least 2 inches extra reach on him, but Alfonso just kept going.
The main event left a LOT to be desired for me. I don't know if it was a result of all of the previous fights being edited, but this seemed like 20 minutes of Peter Manfredo pushing Sergio around....NOT pretty to watch at all. Was this Peter's way of dealing with the uber-in-shape Latin Snake?
I never felt one way or another about Sergio during the show, but loved Peter's story, but TOTALLY agree w/ the judges decision - this was ALL Sergio!
Most annoying thing: the 60 second commerical breaks that occured between rounds 3, 4, and 5 GRR!
Funniest thing: Sylvester Stalone's mangled announcement/congratulatory comment to Sergio which he said "Congratulation! Here's your well deserved..................BELT! " bwah! The clip is up -- go here and click on the upper left corner to see the video wrapup. You have to sit through the last round and the decision, but Sly's comment is worth it.
Worst thing: The fact that this show wasn't renewed. BOO! Hey HBO -- pick this show up! This would be PERFECT for cable!
