frost on the punkin
Oct. 6th, 2004 03:09 pmYOWZA! When I woke up this morning, it was a nipply 38 degrees outside. Verrrry hard to crawl out of bed.
Had a meeting in Arlington yesterday morning/early afternoon, and ended up stopping in Georgetown on the way back for some shopping and a bite to eat. (Shut up -- Lush and Sephora are a stone's throw from the La Madoline) I rolled back to Baltimore with a car full of bath bombs, bubble bars, and new lip gloss. Ahhhh..I love being girly.
We had a surprise 'not shower' for my branch chief today to celebrate his upcoming wedding (#2). The couple's story is sweet -- they dated in 1969 for 8 months, then she "dumped" him b/c she was working for TWA as a flight attendant. They both married other people, had families, etc. He heard her name back in 1996 at a work function & found out that a co-worker's father knew her father, but he made no contact. His marriage fell apart 2 years ago, and he looked her up again. Turns out (from his call to her brother) that she was still flying, and had been married, but was now divorced. It took him 8 months to actually call her, but when he did, they talked for hours, and after the 2nd date, are inseperable. I'm not a big fan of him, but seeing her leap with joy when he laid eyes on her in the conference room was heartwarming. What was REALLY amusing was that he was just this morning assembling a poster of a few pics from when they first dated, so there was a nice prop for the lunch!
ahhhhh love!

Taken over the weekend -- not as cute as he was when we first got him!

This one made me think of "HEAD!!" from So I married an ax murderer......
