Olympic smugness and High-Def babble

It cracks me up how NBC acts like their Olympic telecasts are live. I really enjoy looking on Yahoo and seeing who light the torch, how the opening ceremonies went, etc.

I just hope they're broadcast in HD this time around -- the last summer ones had some weird alternative feed over NBC because, supposedly, Ms. Couric wasn't pleased with how she looked on HD. There were some events that were just rebroadcast for days (mens swimming, etc). Knowing the crappiness of NBC and their lack of committment to HD broadcasting, I think I'll be lucky to see a hockey game in HD (that and soccer are the last 2 sports I have yet to enjoy, and ABC better pony up this year w/ World Cup.

I'm so annoyed that Fox decided to put the two hour series finale of Arrested Development up against the Olympic opening ceremony broadcast tonight! It's as if they are deliberately trying to not have people watch it. I know they haven't been supportive of the show lately (obviously since they are cancelling it) but that is just ridiculous.
