Judd's parents drove up here for the long weekend from Tampa........the weather was beautiful (the first time they've visited with nice weather), so we did a bunch of sightseeing.

Saturday:  Baltimore day.  Ft Mchenry, the Inner Harbor, Federal Hill, lunch at the Baltimore Museum of Art, walked through Fells Point, rested at home, visit at Steve & Dixie's house, then dinner at Nick's Fish house.   Memorable because I think I finally found a china cabinet/hutch that I like, for not a horrible price.  Now to find a table to match, and we're in business!!   The big MD/Navy football game was going

Sunday:  Judd + Dad played golf until 3-ish, MIL and I did some shopping (Sam's club, then outlet mall).  I bought shoes that must be returned.  I napped for about 2 hours.  Ate dinner at home (FAB steaks marinated in 1/3 fig preserves, 2/3 balsamic vinegar overnight, grilled and served with melted Aldouse (sp) garlic spread cheese)

Monday:  DC day.....2 hours at Arlington National Cemetery, hotdog lunch, visit to the National Archives to see the Big 3 documents (and yes, they did sell National Treasure in the gift shop), looooong walk up the mall to Vietnam Memorial, walk back to WWII memorial, cooled feet in fountain; dinner at the fabulouso Guapos (yum)

clicky on photo title for a closeup....

Those steaks sound good. I tried a fig for the first time just a few months ago. I have never thought of cooking with them. That sounds like an interesting combination!

I love the kite picture especially :)

the steaks were SO good....I just bought a jar of fig preserves, scooped a bit out, micro'ed it a bit to warm it up and stired in the vinegar.

As for the kite, Judd's been really into Kite surfing the past couple of years and finally got a 'training kite'. The day we were out, it was so windy that it kept lifting him off of the ground!

Wow! I didn't realize that was even possible! But it's not just an average kite I take it? Sounds like a lot of fun. They have kites all over the state parks around here. Always fun to watch. :)

I might have to try that steak recipe :)

I'm tired after reading about your weekend. How often do Judd's parents come for a visit?

Not very often - they were up here for a day last Nov on their return trip from Connecticut, but before that, it was Jan 2004 since they'd been here!

I love the Crabby Katherine pic. :)

That steak sounds tasty. I think we'll have to give that a try.

I wish I had a pedometer on for the DC day! We'd easily walked 4 miles
